Our team worked with a class of graphic design students to choose the logo for the 30th Anniversary of this event. Using the logo designed by the student, Natalie, I created the animation and visuals for this video intro. We used it as the intro for five videos that showcased some of our guests trying out the Chili Challenge. My coworker, Darren VanDyke, helped me finish the intro by adding the audio and sound effects to finish it off. We won both a Gold ADDY and Best in Show for our intro!

Isolation Dorm Encouragement Cards, Virginia Tech Dining Services

During COVID-19, many students were having to be put into quarantine dorms if they contracted the virus. Thankfully, Dining Services was there to be sure they were still being fed! As something to go along with the food being delivered to quarantined students, I came up with an idea to send little encouragement postcards to give to the students with their food as something to brighten up their days alone. These encouragement cards contain different illustrations and food puns to at least get a little giggle out of the students!

This logo came about when a shop, called "Wired," at one of our dining centers needed a rebrand and update to accompany its renovation. The shop was moving from just smoothies and a few baked goods to smoothies, baked goods, and coffee. During the brainstorming process I came up with a new name, "Blend," because you blend together fruits for smoothies but there are also blends of coffee. The name portrays the different options served at the shop as well as the blend of styles in the shop. I combined imagery of a blender and a coffee cup for the logo itself.

An event centered around the four seasons of Japanese cuisine, this menu draws inspiration from Japanese origami and sumi-e paintings. I chose the tree imagery to guide the event through the different seasons in Japan - Winter is empty and surrounded by snow, Spring is full of life and floating cherry blossoms, Summer is full of vibrant green leaves, and Autumn begins to empty itself of leaves to begin the cycle again.
